General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your liver ultrasound shows increased echogenicity, which could have many causes, but a common cause is a liver disease called fatty liver disease, in which fat infiltrates the liver and causes inflammation. The main treatment for this, if you were overweight, would be weight loss, as well as treating any diabetes or high cholesterol if you had these. But depending on the rest of your history and whether your liver enzymes were normal, it may be from several other causes.

The rest of your ultrasound was normal, with no masses, no gallbladder problems, and no signs of cirrhosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
